Talk It Over
Daniel
Hey parents! Use these questions as a guide to talk over this week’s lesson, Daniel, with your child after they’ve watched the video service!
- Who did we see in the Bible story that was friends with God? Daniel. God wants to be your friend, too.
- What kind of animal was in today's Bible story? Lions! Let's roar like lions!
- Did the lions hurt Daniel? No! God saved Daniel by shutting the lions' mouths tight!
- Can you shut your mouth tight like the lions? That's right! You can't chomp with your mouth closed!
- How did Daniel talk to God? He prayed!
- Just like Daniel prayed and talked to God, we can talk to God, too. Take some time to pray with your toddler. Encourage them to sit with you and fold their hands, saying something like: "God, thank you for loving me. I'm so happy you want to be my friend. Thank you for the Bible, your special book to me. We love you! Amen.""
Hey parents! Here's something for you to be encouraged by and get ideas to bring this Bible story into your everyday conversation with your child at home!
DownloadWe have a variety of coloring pages to help your child remember familiar faces from this month’s lesson!
DownloadThis week, your toddler will make a headband to remind them of the Bible story. They will see a lion and remember that God shut the lions’ mouths so Daniel would not get hurt. Just like God and Daniel are friends, God wants to be our friend, too.
DownloadThis week, your toddler will make a paper bag puppet of Daniel from the Bible story. This will help remind them that God wants to be our friend, just like God and Daniel are friends.
DownloadThis week, your toddler will decorate and create a lion’s mane to remind them of the Bible story. They will see a lion and remember that God shut the lions’ mouths so Daniel would not get hurt. Just like God and Daniel are friends, God wants to be our friend, too.
DownloadThis week, your toddler will create a scene from the Bible story. When they open the window of the craft, they will see Daniel praying just like he always did. Just like God and Daniel are friends, God wants to be their friend, too.
DownloadIn this activity, your child will play a game to help them remember that God shut the mouths of the lions in the Bible story!
DownloadIn this activity, your child will find the lions and return them to the den to help remind them of the Bible story and how God kept Daniel safe from the lions.
DownloadIn this activity, you will have the chance to model prayer to your child. This will be a reminder of the Bible story about when Daniel prayed to his friend, God, three times a day. They will see that we can pray to God, too, because God wants to be our friend.
DownloadIn this activity, your child will bring this week’s craft to life as they say and do things to remember Daniel from the Bible story!
